5. Toshiba Mini — fuzzy logic in a genuinely small cooker

Most compact rice cookers drop the microcomputer to hit a price, falling back to a dumb on/off thermostat — which is exactly what makes the Toshiba Mini unusual. It is a 3-cup (uncooked) cooker that keeps fuzzy logic, so it senses and adjusts the heat the way the full-size cookers do, in a body sized for one or two people.
