The TenderCrisp idea

The Ninja Foodi OS300 does the same job as the Instant Pot Duo Crisp by a different route. Where the Duo Crisp uses one convertible Ultimate Lid, the Foodi uses two separate lids — a pressure lid that lives on the pot, and a hinged crisping lid Ninja calls TenderCrisp. Pressure-cook a pot roast tender under the first, swap to the second, and a 500°F convection element browns the top without moving the food to a separate air fryer. On capability, the two machines are close.

What it does well

The crisping is genuine. At 1,460 W the Foodi's convection element runs to 500°F, which is real high-heat browning rather than the same pressure element pushed harder, and the 6.5-quart pot is a true family size. Ninja publishes the wattage in the OS300 owner's guide Technical Specifications, which is more than several combo units manage. For a household that wants pressure and crisp and already prefers Ninja's interface, the Foodi is a direct, feature-for-feature answer to the Instant Pot combo.

The caveat worth knowing before you buy

Here is the honest one, and it is about availability rather than cooking: the Amazon listing for this exact OS300 model is currently a certified-renewed unit. New stock of the Foodi pressure-cooker line has become intermittent as Ninja shifts attention to its SmartLid and PossibleCooker ranges. A renewed unit can be a genuinely good buy — it is inspected and warranted — but it is not the same as a brand-new, first-hand cooker, and you should know that is what you are buying before you click. It is the main reason the Foodi scores below the Duo Crisp on value today despite matching it on features.
